Honest-1 Auto Care Leads the Industry in Eco-Friendly Automotive Initiatives

90-Point Checklist Established to Carry Out Initiatives to the 19 Auto
    Centers Nationwide

SCOTTSDALE, AZ, Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ – Taking significant strides in an industry that is not typically known for being environmentally conscious, Honest-1 Auto Care’s eco-friendly initiatives are some of the most proactive in the nation.

Honest-1 Auto Care, a fast growing auto repair and maintenance chain with six locations in Nevada, employs some of the most aggressive eco-friendly policies on the corporate and center level, using more eco-friendly protocols than competitors and exceeding federal regulations. Honest-1 executes four major eco-friendly actions companywide, including strict recycling of auto materials, pollution prevention, resources conservation and providing services to customers like ECO TuneUp(TM) and ECO Oil Change. To fully integrate these, Honest-1 has established a 90-point checklist required for all 19 Honest-1 locations nationwide.

“Eco-friendly is not just a slogan at Honest-1; it’s a mindset,” said Jack Keilt, president and CEO of Honest-1. “A large percentage of our 90-point checklist reinforces our commitment to perform at levels greater than normally found in the automotive sector.”

Also known as the Environmentally Sustainable Actions manual, the 90-point checklist reviews practices at an auto care center, including using water-based parts cleaning system; sending all used oils, antifreeze and transmission fluids to a recycler; cleaning and recycling of all empty plastic containers; and promoting Honest-1’s most eco-friendly services that increase fuel economy and decrease emissions. Also included in the checklist are requirements for eco-friendly center upkeep, like water-reducing landscaping, power conservation and purchasing energy-saving equipment.

All of the Honest-1 locations across the nation are required to follow the ESA manual and are reviewed annually for compliance with the strict protocols. Honest-1’s commitment to sustainable actions also includes a menu of customer services that are eco-friendly. While the ECO TuneUp(TM) and ECO Oil Change – both using a proprietary additive that reduces emissions and increases gas mileage – are the most popular, Honest-1 technicians also recommend other services that are good for the environment. These include using high mileage oil and filters, promoting extended life air filters and explaining to customers the importance of tire inflation.

“The public is increasingly seeking businesses that will help them reduce their carbon footprint,” Keilt said. “Honest-1 not only provides services that are environmentally conscious, but our technicians set them up with the knowledge to maintain their vehicles in the most sustainable way possible.”

For more information on any of the Nevada locations visit www.honest-1.com.

About Honest-1 Auto Care:

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan 16 /PRNewswire/ –

— Chosen by 100 Detroit News reader-judges, award reflects consumer
sentiment at the 2009 North American International Auto Show

— Four consecutive Readers’ Choice awards reinforce Chrysler’s leadership
in minivan functionality, versatility and design

— Chrysler invented the minivan more than 25 years ago and leads the
segment with more than 65 minivan-first features

— In minivan’s first 25 years, Chrysler has sold more than 12 million
minivans – more than any other manufacturer in the world

The 2009 Chrysler Town & Country was awarded the Detroit News Readers’
Choice “Family Hauler.” A panel of 100 consumer-minded Detroit News
reader-judges — rather than industry professionals — selected the 2009
Chrysler Town & Country as the best family vehicle at the 2009 North American
International Auto Show.

“With more than 25 years as the leader in the minivan segment, we are
honored to once again receive the Detroit News Readers’ Choice Award for Best
Family Hauler,” said Mike Accavitti, Director — Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge
Brand Marketing, Chrysler LLC. “The 2009 Chrysler Town & Country continues to
be the best vehicle to transport people and things, perfecting its
award-winning formula with the addition of 40 new or improved features over
the previous generation.”

Chrysler engineers have spent more than 25 years perfecting its
award-winning minivan formula and have created more than 65 minivan-first
features including a powerful 4.0-liter V-6 engine with six-speed automatic
transmission — capable of delivering an EPA fuel efficiency in the city of 17
mpg and 25 mpg on the highway, a label unbeaten among minivans.

A family-friendly interior full of innovation complements fuel-efficient
powertrains. Chrysler engineers developed two distinct seating systems:
Chrysler’s exclusive Stow ‘n Go(R) seating and storage system and the Swivel
‘n Go(TM) seating systems, both with in-floor storage and an available
one-touch power folding third-row seat.

Entertainment options are unmatched by competitors. With music, audio,
movie and personalized picture display capability, uconnect tunes anchors the
2009 Chrysler Town & Country’s multimedia, together with a 30-gigabyte hard
drive for 6,700 songs, USB port, uconnect studios SIRIUS satellite radio,
front-row movie playback (in Park as permitted by state regulations) and an
audio jack for any MP3 player audio input playback. The uconnect gps adds even
more capability to the uconnect tunes system with navigation and real-time
traffic monitoring.

For the rear passengers, a minivan-first dual DVD system can play
different media at the same time. With uconnect studios SIRIUS Backseat TV
satellite streaming video and SIRIUS Satellite Radio, DVD player and dual A/V
jacks with a 115-volt power inverter in the second row, there is something to
keep everyone in the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country entertained.

The 2009 Chrysler Town & Country is also first in the minivan segment to
feature the new Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path advanced safety
systems. The all-new Blind Spot Monitoring System (BSM) detects a possible
unseen vehicle when changing lanes. The Rear Cross Path System (RCP) aids the
driver any time the vehicle is in reverse and warns if any traffic is moving
toward the vehicle. Both systems utilize dual ultra-wideband radar sensors
that notify the driver via an audible chime and a visible icon on outside
mirrors.

About the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country

The 2009 Chrysler Town & Country offers a contemporary appearance, an EPA
fuel efficiency of 25 mpg — a label unbeaten among minivans, three different
models, two distinct seating and storage systems, unmatched entertainment
systems and more than 40 available safety features. The 2009 Chrysler Town &
Country received the U.S. Government’s Five Star crash test rating in both
front and side impact tests. The U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price
(MSRP) of the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country LX is $27,250, which includes $820
destination.

Chrysler Brand

The Chrysler brand has delighted customers with distinctive designs,
craftsmanship, intuitive innovation and technology — all at an extraordinary
value — since the company was founded in 1926.

Whether it is the groundbreaking, bold design of the Chrysler 300, the
sleek elegant styling of a Sebring Convertible, or the “family room on wheels”
functionality of the Chrysler Town & Country, Chrysler brand vehicles reward
the passion, creativity and sense of accomplishment of its owners. Beyond just
exceptionally designed vehicles, the Chrysler brand has incorporated
thoughtful features into all of its products, such as the Stow ‘n Go seating
and storage system on the Chrysler Town & Country, the fuel-saving
Multi-Displacement System (MDS) in the Chrysler 300 and uconnect phone
utilizing Bluetooth technology on the Chrysler Sebring and Chrysler Sebring
Convertible. Both Sebring models also achieve 28 highway mpg fuel economy.

Chrysler celebrated the 25th anniversary of the minivan during the 2009
model year. With more than 65 minivan-firsts introduced since 1983 and more
than 12 million Dodge and Chrysler minivans sold, Chrysler LLC has solidified
its leadership in the segment. The 2009 Chrysler Town & Country continues to
set the mark in minivan value with more than 40 new or improved features from
the previous generation, including unsurpassed 17 city / 25 highway mpg fuel
economy. The 2009 Chrysler Town & Country is also the first minivan in the
segment to feature the all-new Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path
advance safety systems.

The Chrysler brand’s succession of innovative product introductions
continues to solidify the brand’s standing as the leader in design,
engineering and value. The premium for the Chrysler brand is in the product,
not the price.

Quantum’s Affiliate Fisker Automotive Unveils Premium Plug-in Hybrid Hardtop Convertible Concept and Fisker Karma Production Car at 2009 North American International Auto Show

January 16, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Powered by Quantum Technologies’ Q-DRIVE(R), the 100-mpg Karma combines the best in power, eco-friendliness and style

IRVINE, Calif., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Fisker Automotive, an affiliate of Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. (Nasdaq: QTWW), unveiled its first production car — the 2010 Fisker Karma — and its plug-in hybrid, hardtop convertible concept — the Fisker Karma S — at the 2009 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit this week. The NAIAS continues through next week with the public car show running January 17-25, 2009.

Fisker Automotive, a new American manufacturer of premium green automobiles, has received in excess of 1,000 orders for its Fisker Karma since the prototype debuted at the 2008 NAIAS. The Karma, a 100-mile-per-gallon, luxury plug-in hybrid sports sedan, fuses the traditional and timeless styling of veteran auto designer and Fisker Automotive CEO, Henrik Fisker, with Quantum’s lithium-ion based Q-DRIVE(R) plug-in hybrid powertrain to become the world’s first luxury plug-in hybrid car. Deliveries of the Karma, with a starting price of $87,900, are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2009 through the Fisker Automotive Retail network.

Also unveiled this week was the open-air Fisker Karma S concept which is a four-seat, plug-in hybrid, hardtop convertible that shares its aluminum spaceframe architecture and the Q-DRIVE(R) powertrain with the Fisker Karma sports sedan.

Like the Fisker Karma, Karma S is designed and engineered by Quantum Technologies exclusively for Fisker Automotive and powered by Quantum’s Q-DRIVE(R), which provides 50 emission-free miles on a single charge to its lithium-ion battery pack and up to 403hp from two electric motors. The power retractable hard top, a first for Fisker, glides neatly into the trunk and a unique design language sets the Karma S concept apart.

Both the Fisker Karma and the Karma S concept embody Fisker’s belief that driving style and performance need not be compromised for environmental friendliness and efficiency.

“Our objective is to create a singular design language and heritage around our state-of-the-art Q-DRIVE(R) powertrain,” said Fisker Automotive, Inc. CEO Henrik Fisker. “The Karma S is an extension of the Fisker Automotive product range of eco-conscious automobiles and sets the tone for our future.”

Q-DRIVE: POWERFUL TECHNOLOGY

Exclusive to Fisker Automotive, Q-DRIVE(R) provides the best combination of power, efficiency and low emissions. The system is comprised of two 201hp electric motors powered by an advanced lithium-ion technology battery pack. A generator attached to a turbocharged 2.0-liter Ecotec(R) direct injection (D1) gasoline engine provides extended range capabilities.

“More than 75 percent of America’s 200 million drivers travel less than 50 miles per day. With Q-DRIVE(R), the Karma can do that without using a drop of gas. This proprietary powertrain will provide a base for all future model derivatives from Fisker Automotive,” said Alan Niedzwiecki, CEO Quantum Technologies.

Q-DRIVE(R) features two operating modes: Stealth Mode and Sport Mode. In electric-only Stealth Mode, drivers can travel emission free for up to 50 miles on a full charge from any 110-, 220- or 240-volt electric outlet. A total range of up to 300 miles is estimated in Sport Mode, which utilizes the efficient Ecotec(R) gasoline engine to turn a generator that powers two electric motors on the rear differential.

With over 60% of the public driving less than 50 miles per day, a fully charged Karma can achieve an annual average of more than 100 miles per gallon. With a top speed of 125 mph and a 0-60 mph time of 5.8 seconds, the Karma is the world’s first true premium plug-in hybrid sports sedan. The Karma’s low center of gravity and performance-oriented, A-arm suspension system offer a world class driving experience. Tall, wide tires deliver immense lateral grip while electrohydraulic disc brakes provide effortless stopping power.

LUXURY AND STYLE

Karma’s exterior design features the continual flow of sculpture and dramatic proportion that is signature Fisker style. A low, wide stance and raised front fenders offer the driver a unique view of the car’s design. Modest changes from the original Karma prototype include an enhanced upper grill and an enlarged lower intake for improved airflow. A new aerodynamic diffuser under the rear bumper helps cool the electric drivetrain. Instantly recognizable, the Karma also benefits from having the world’s largest continuously formed glass solar panel roof on a car — an industry first and a standard feature on all Karma sedans.

“From initial concept to final production, it is important for Fisker to maintain a singular design language and to keep the integrity of the original design, inside and out. Extreme proportions, beautiful sculpture and earth-friendly materials are key elements that set the Karma apart,” said Fisker Automotive, Inc. CEO Henrik Fisker. “An inspiring drive is also an important and crucial element. Our hope is that the Fisker Karma will create a new segment of eco-friendly transportation and will become the most desirable plug-in hybrid sports sedan available.”

A desirable car of any kind requires an inviting cockpit. Fisker’s interior design team focused on sustainable design held accountable to the environment. Inspiration from nature’s timeless beauty and the quality of classic design composition provided immense inspiration. Karma’s Sustainable and Accountable Design is reflected in the use of reusable materials enhanced with modern technology. For example, wood trim is sourced from non-living trees: ‘Fallen Trees’ that have succumbed to age; ‘Rescued Trees’ burned in forest fires; and ‘Sunken Trees’ lying in American lake bottoms.

Karma’s instrumentation and controls focus on ease of use. Embedded in the layered EcoGlass(TM) center console is a 10.2-inch touch sensitive screen controlling HVAC, audio and other vehicle systems. LCD gauges behind the steering wheel provide display critical information like battery charge and vehicle speed.

“The Karma’s material philosophy balances sensuality and accountability,” said Fisker. “We have gone to great lengths to use only environmentally conscious, classic automotive materials that support a commitment to our eco initiatives. At Fisker Automotive we are trying to inspire change for the better Karma buyers will choose from three trim levels: EcoBase(TM), EcoSport(TM) and EcoChic(TM). The most advanced sustainable material series, EcoChic, is based on an animal-free approach that still offers a luxurious environment. Leather is replaced by 100% Bamboo Viscose, a soft hand textile, while EcoGlass(TM) trim frames authentic fossilized leaves. Karma’s EcoSport(TM) series incorporates hand-wrapped premium leather using a 100% sustainable manufacturing strategy, which minimizes the number of hides required and highlights natural markings.”

muscle machine, it pays homage to one of the most storied nameplates in
automotive history,” said Dan Knott, Vice President-Car / Minivan / SRT
Product Team, Chrysler LLC. “With heritage-inspired dual-wide body-side R/T
stripes, original ‘Challenger’ heritage badging and the newest generation of
our legendary 5.7-liter HEMI(R) V-8 engine, the new 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T
Classic delivers the greatness of our pony car past with advanced
fuel-efficient muscle.”

Based on the powerful 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T, the Dodge Challenger R/T
Classic not only delivers a menacing look and premium equipment — its
powertrain delivers an unforgettable punch. With dual throwback A-line
body-side R/T stripes, ‘Challenger’ fender badging in classic script, large
20-inch polished-chrome heritage wheels with all-season performance tires,
classic egg-crate grille with heritage ‘R/T’ badge, body-color rear spoiler
and chromed fuel-filler door — the Dodge Challenger R/T Classic is
unmistakable.

“Dodge Challenger has a rich performance heritage and the 2009 Dodge
Challenger R/T Classic encompasses numerous technologies that allow great on-
road performance while delivering proven-quality and refinement to ensure its
place in the Dodge pony car history,” said Knott.

The 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic tucks its legendary 5.7-liter
HEMI(R) V-8 engine under a long, raised performance hood with functional hood
scoops to increase engine cooling. The newest generation 5.7-liter HEMI(R) V-8
engine features dual variable-cam timing (VCT) and dual ignition (two spark
plugs per cylinder) to increase power and torque, while improving refinement
and efficiency.

When paired with the Tremec six-speed manual transmission, the 2009 Dodge
Challenger R/T Classic features the performance-minded Track Pak’s
precision-shift “pistol-grip” shifter, bright pedals, Electronic Stability
Program (ESP) with defeatable traction control, Hill Start Assist (HSA),
four-wheel disc performance braking system and an anti-spin 3.92 differential.
A performance-tuned dual exhaust optimizes engine back pressure and exhaust
throatiness by replacing the standard under-floor muffler with two low-
restriction bottle resonators. The result, a powerful 376 horsepower (280 kW)
and 410 lb.-ft. of torque (556 N*m) that can accelerate the Dodge Challenger
R/T Classic from zero to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds.

An available five-speed automatic transmission with Auto Stick provides
efficiency and responsiveness in the 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic. An
aggressive first-gear ratio provides outstanding launch performance, while the
transmission’s fully-adaptive electronic control delivers more responsiveness
without harshness.

When paired with the automatic transmission, the new-generation 5.7-liter
HEMI(R) V-8 includes the fuel-saving multi-displacement system (MDS) allowing
Dodge Challenger R/T Classic to operate economically on four cylinders, or
produce 372 horsepower (277 kW) and 401 lb.-ft. of torque (544 N*m) when all
eight cylinders are needed.

On the interior, the trapezoidal theme of the door-panel cove and gauge
cluster, dark headliner and slanted shifter console are inspired by the
original Dodge Challenger. Inspiration from the past continues with a “four
bomb” gauge cluster with deep easy-to-read white faces. Premium leather-
trimmed bucket seats with heat are well-bolstered and finished with French-
seamed stitching. The advanced uconnect gps with voice recognition, navigation
with real-time traffic and Universal Customer Interface (UCI) is available on

We are extremely proud of the work we delivered in MadCrazyLove and Push It Good and we’re certainly excited with the responses we received from our consumers and the automotive community.”

MadCrazyLove – The “Movie” Commercial

Taking a significant leap from the traditional 30- and 60-second broadcast advertising model, UniWorld delivered an industry first with the creation of MadCrazyLove, a three-minute movie featuring the newest member of the Lincoln family – the new 2009 Lincoln MKS. MadCrazyLove was shot on location in Hollywood Hills and tells a fun, romantic story backed by the sultry music of the legendary Marvin Gaye.

Accompanying the 3-minute commercial movie were 30- and 15-second teaser spots that provided a peek into the MadCrazyLove story, and further detailed the features of the new MKS, including the sophisticated technology, dynamic design and smooth driving experience. The spots began airing in June of 2008 on select cable television as well as nationally syndicated programs. National print and digital media were included in the media mix and began rotation last July.
